Christmas 2009

Caleb and his Mickey stocking

Here are a few pictures from Christmas morning! Caleb had a great time and loved everything that Santa brought him this year!

I'm ready for presents!
Is it time?

Santa brought lots of clothes and train engines!

Ripping the presents open!

Here mom, you can have the paper!

We hope everyone had a great holiday! We sure did, we are so blessed to have the life that we have and wouldn't trade it for anything!

We got word that Caleb will be changing classes at school. He's moving up to the 2 1/2 year old class room! He just turned 2 so we thought it was a little early but if the school says he's ready then they know better than we do! We're excited for him and we're sure he'll do great!

We have the twins here with us to ring in the New Year so I will post more pictures of their Christmas and their visit!

Caleb's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Caleb's 2nd birthday party on December 5th this year. A couple weeks before his actual birthday but it was so much easier with the holidays right around the corner! He had a Thomas party this year and LOVED it! He had so much fun! Here are just a few pictures from the party, there are a ton more but would take forever to upload them all!

Whew, we've been busy!

Ok, I know I promised house pictures and I will get them up soon but things have been CRAZY! We had to make an emergency trip to Michigan the beginning of November because my brother Gene lost his battle with pancreatic cancer and passed away. It was a very sad time for me, Gene was the brother I was closest to growing up, not in age or anything, but I always had a bond with him that I did not have with my other brothers. Being adopted makes it rough some times!
On the way home from Michigan we stopped through Chicago and took some pictures and also St. Louis so I will have those pictures to post as well!
This past weekend we had Caleb's 2nd birthday party! We had a Thomas the train theme and he had a great time! (Pictures to come soon!)
Caleb is enjoying school and growing like a weed! Thankfully though I think that his foot growth has slowed some. Thank goodness! He's in a size 9 right now and I am really hoping he stays there for a while. :-)
We are looking forward to Christmas with the kiddos and plan on just sticking around home. We have done a lot of traveling this year, some not by choice, but now it is nice to just stick to home and try to relax a little bit.
I have included a couple of pictures we took this past weekend. The first is Caleb and I after his birthday party...Aunt Mandy snapped this one while we were dancing. Caleb is such a happy kid and this picture really really shows that! He is also very loving and always giving kisses and hugs and telling us he loves us. The second is Caleb doing is rock star hair impression. LOL. I will try to post more soon! Hopefully I can get them online during winter break from school!

Moving!!!!!

I am proud to annouce we are moving! We're not going far, from Frontenac to Pittsburg but we are in a much nicer home now. It is a 3bed 2bath and is about 6yrs old.
It is going to be a long process and I will post pictures as soon as I am able! We're all so excited, especially Caleb who has his own room and is loving it!
We're still looking to move a little farther away eventually but we're both wanting to finish school first to ensure employment once we get where we are going!
Pictures to follow soon!

Branson Scenic Railway

Last Saturday we took Caleb to Branson to ride the Scenic Railway! This was something that Rusty and I had done back in 2002. Caleb LOVED it!!! When we got there he kept telling us "I wanna ride." LOL. We plan to go back to Branson to do some other things in the next couple of weeks...the train was really all we had time for on Saturday but it was well worth the drive! Here are some pictures!!!!

He's got his dip in as daddy says. LOL
So excited to be on the train!

Union Station

Yesterday we took a spur of the moment trip to Kansas City and visited Union Station! We had a great time! There was a lot to see and do. We took the KC Rail Experience and have plans to go back when Caleb is a little older and check out Science City. That looked like it would be a lot of fun for him.
After we went to Union Station we went over to Legends to get Caleb's coat for this winter and ate pizza at Nick & Willy's. Kind of an off the wall pizza place but the food was really good!
Here are a few pictures from Union Station!

School is going great for both Rusty and I. I am almost finished with my first block of classes! Right now I have A's in both of them, knock on wood!
We are going to the Humane Society here in a bit once Caleb gets up from his nap...I think I finally have daddy talked into getting Caleb a kitty! YAY! He's been asking for one for a while...of course he's also asking for a baby so we'll see what happens! haha.
We're trying to make the decision whether to start trying for another baby this fall as planned or wait until we get moved and get settled in Texas. It's a big decision. I just hate to leave my doctor! He made having Caleb so easy and I want the next to go just as smooth!
Hope all is well with everyone! We're planning a trip to the Tulsa Zoo and Aquarium here in a couple weeks so I'm sure we'll have lots of pictures to post from that!

Just another day in paradise!!!

Wanted to get a quick update on here for anyone that checks for them! We have been busy, busy, busy around here lately! Or maybe it just seems that way! This weekend we went to a friends to swim and hang out. Caleb had a great time. I actually did not take the camera because we were not sure if he'd go in the big pool but he did! He swam for an hr and a half! He LOVED Sherry's pool. Longest he has ever stayed in the water. He usually loves to play in it but never stays in for long. He has that 20 month old attention span you know!
Rusty is all enrolled in school! He is going for Information Technology! We are very excited about that. Its going to be interesting with us both going to school but since he can go during the day while Caleb is at school I think it will work out fine.
Right now we are just counting down to graduating school, moving and first and foremost Caleb's second birthday!!!! I am so excited. He's into a lot more stuff now so that means his birthday and the holidays are going to be awesome this year! They were fun last year but I just can't wait to see his face this year now that he will really know what is going on. It's going to be wonderful!
Here are a few pictures as well! Until Next time!

Caleb oblivious to the girl "checking" him out!
Petting the Sheep! He thought this was pretty cool!

Hanging out in his kiddy pool!

August is here!!!

Hard to believe that summer is coming to an end! It doesn't seem like it should be August already!
This weekend we went to Newton to see Grandma Sherry, Aunt Amy and Uncle Joe! Caleb always has a blast at Grandma's and sleeps so great. I told Rusty any time we are having sleep issues we should just drive there. LOL. We left on Friday afternoon and spent the night then got up on Saturday and took Caleb to the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita! It was a lot of fun. I love going to the zoo and so does Rusty. The last time we took Caleb was in March so we thought he might enjoy it a little more now that he's a little bit older and we were right! It was so funny to watch his eyes light up when he saw the animals. I have a ton more pictures once Rusty gets them uploaded for me!
School is going well for me! So far I have A's in both of the classes I am taking right now and I hope to keep that up. I am very nervous about one of my final projects for one class but Amy is going to help me out with learning power point so I hope I can pass that with flying colors as well!
Rusty was laid off a little over a week ago. We had an idea it was coming so had begun to prepare for it. It will put a little bit of strain on things but nothing we are not certain we can handle. He is looking into going back to school as well.
Mom and Kermit have set a wedding date! October 17, 2009 she will become a married woman! We're all very excited for them both. Before we know it, we will all be on our way to Texas! YAY! Rusty and I are more than ready to go!
I will post more pictures once they are uploaded! Hope everyone has had a wonderful summer!

Here is Caleb for the first time in a big boy booster seat doing is best SpongeBob impression! Check out his facial expression and SpongeBob's on the cup...LOL. There is never a dull moment with our little blonde cutie around!!!!

Caleb's 18 almost 19 month Pictures!

Aunt Mandy and I took Caleb to Kansas City today to Portrait Innovations to have his 18 month pictures taken, even though he will be 19 months old on Monday!!! He did much better than I expected and we got quite a few great pictures and I totally BLEW my budget I had set for myself! OOPS! Good thing we were able to save some money on our car insurance...and no, we did not go to Geico! HAHA!
Anyways, the pictures went so great. By the end he was pretty ready to go and we did get a couple crying shots, which I have delightfully posted on not only Facebook but also MySpace! My son is going to LOVE me when he's older!
I am so blessed to have such a handsome photogenic little man! He truly is the light of my life...Daddy's too! He just keeps getting more fun the older he gets!
Here are just a few of the pictures! They took over 60 and I actually narrowed it down to 7 to purchase, not really sure how I managed that one! Enjoy!

Where does the time go???

I rarely have time to upload pictures these days. An almost 19 month old really keeps you busy! He doesn't sit still for a second these days! Well, except for this past weekend! He started not feeling well on Friday night and just seemed to get worse as the weekend wore on. After a Sunday night with absolutely no sleep for anyone in our house I took him to the doctor Monday afternoon and the poor baby has strep! No wonder he wasnt sleeping!!! I feel so bad for not taking him earlier! BAD MOMMY! They put him on antibiotics and by last night he was feeling much better I think.
We have A LOT going on right now! A lot of exciting, wonderful things! I am going back to school starting Monday, we've decided that Caleb should have a sibling, and we're planning a MAJOR move next year some time! Rustys mother has met a wonderful man and is planning a wedding for this fall and then moving her all the way to Texas!!! We have been given the opportunity to make the move as well and what can we say? We like to live dangerously! We're going to take the plunge. Its going to be hard with two kids and a house full of stuff but I think we can do it.
We are planning on expanding our family this winter, well trying anyway! That way Caleb will be a big brother come summer of 2010. It was a decision we went back and forth on for quite a while and having been the only child growing up in the house I know just how lonely that can be and I really do not want that for him! He's such a social little boy!!! Loves to talk and sing and dance. I know that he will love a playmate.
I begin work on my Associates of Arts degree in Accounting on Monday with The University of Phoenix! I am sooooooo excited but also very very nervous! I hope I can manage everything. Once I finish the associates degree I plan to move on to get my bachelors and then hopefully take the CPA exam.
Rusty is going to start a little construction next month in the house. We are adding a bedroom so that we can have a large master suite and Caleb will finally have his own room. Its a lot to take on but he's pretty handy. He's going to take a week off from work so that he can get it started and finished all at once.
Well I guess that is all for now. I will try to be better about posting pictures, life just gets in the way sometimes! haha.

Much Love

I havent posted in FOREVER! Its hard to keep up when you are chasing around an active 15mo old. He went to the dr yesterday and he was 25lbs and 32" tall. He's lost a couple pounds the past couple weeks, probably from being so active. Dr said that hes doing great and no cause for concern. He got two shots and at his next appt they will draw blood to check for things like anemia. He's talking and walking like crazy. Always has something to say. I cant imagine where he gets that. haha! Bubba Bryan was here for spring break a couple weeks ago. We went to the TRex cafe and then the next Friday we went to the zoo. The kids had a really good time and Dad and I had fun to! Caleb loves animals. He wasnt afraid of any of them and wanted to go up to each and everything he saw. He also rode the carosel for the first time and LOVED it! Im going to attach a few pictures, we have a lot more but some of them are on the other camera and Rusty hasnt gotten them on the computer yet. If I put them all on here you all would get very bored very fast! LOL
